Astrid Moors (’68) Visual artist, works in Rotterdam, the Netherlands

Astrid Moors makes large acrylic paintings on canvas and digital works. The computer always is part of her instrumentation and sometimes is part of the work of art itself. Reality is created or recreated, movement is added, interaction is made possible.

What we see look like isolated anecdotes, on which the viewer can add his own context. Or we get a sense of a mood, subtle poetic, introvert and universal.
Her works of art have a visual tension in line and color, as well as depiction.
Boredom and uselessness, killing time or (almost) confronting.

on YouTube (june 2008) a movie about me (in Dutch only) , thanks to Peter van Heck

A found-footage from the blog of Sonja van Kerkhoff, Artist in Leiden:

"Astrid's painting (left) was a subtle changing pattern of elements. It was quite meditative and extremely well-crafted. The timing of the animation was so well done that the effect of the artwork seemed to create an existence between the what I would call 'static and painted' and 'mutable and animated'.

Anoniem 1, projection + paint on canvas by Astrid Moors"

Thanks Sonja for the good formulation!
